Can't download patches

I've been trying to play this game a few weeks now. When I first downloaded it I could play but then after a patch, the game wouldn't respond to touches when it got to the screen asking me to accept the download. It did start working several updates late and I could play for a time but the first patch afterwards my screen becomes unresponsive again and unable to download patches. Anyone know how to fix this?
