this is what they said:
* Update: PvP Battles (v2.5)

PvP Battles for v2.5 will no longer be limited to ships within the same port.
You will be able to engage in battle with captains from all ports excluding Ancient Battle Grounds.
Search by name will be removed.

This is to keep the PvP Battle System consistent with the v3.0 System.
This update will be effective from 21 Sep 12 (Server Time).

I only use v2.5 for PvP battle's because it's got more options and is more flexible to use unlike v3.0. So please stop leaking the 'consistencies' into v2.5 unless you are eventually going to phase out the old system.
