The AP was credited into the players' AP bank is it not? They actually withdrew it and used it right?? Are you following Leonard's idea of a ghost depositing those and not the server? Server is not the source of the problem?

With your example of the donut being left on the table instead of being served one, why is it there on my table in the first place? Table decoration? It should not be there right? If StarB**** served a cake to the customer by mistake and the customer ate it, would you think they would charge the customer or let it go?

Windfall winners
There have been some exceptional cases where individuals have been allowed to keep money accidently paid to them. These tend to fall into one of two categories:

1) If you have a credible argument as to why you should keep it. For example, a part-time bank worker who was overpaid £7,500 per year for three years has recently won a court case to keep her windfall. Point number 2 seems to be the right answer for our current situation of "free APs". Instead of a million dollars, try $1000 instead since it is a much closer to the AP amount given. The players' did not get a million APs which should set off alarm bells by itself
