If defenders start becoming impassable then yes, I'm sure Tyler will change the armor formula. For now, I say wait and see as this is what usually happens when a change comes along.

I just gave an example of a level 200+ soldier/150 pirate captain and his inability to pass a level 200 60% def mechanic with or without sabotage. Sure he may sometimes be able to sink him (as I used Average damage for every volley), but all waiting around for a week will do is allow everyone to change to be a mechanic/pirate and then cause more drama when Tyler realizes the buff was too great and they tweak it or buff soldier/scout/rams/missiles to re balance out the classes/weapon types.

Soldier need to glassy or will no enuf dmg. This mean soldier sure glassy. Due to stat distribute, when higher lvl soldier will losing more dmg.

After update, all the super glass die. Soldier if putting more DEF mean even lesser dmg & feeling the pain more compare to other class.

Add to it PS or Strafe also dmg penalty mean the soldier is pew pew dmg.

Unless have lvl 150 dual pirate AP, better little bit but after armor buff still pain.

My example in fact was based on a soldier/pirate with Armor Piercing.

id like to revisit Hon's idea of increasing missile damage bonus from NAV. This would help missilers still deal enough damage to sink average defenders and would also help rammers for when they have to use chase builds as they tend to mix rams and slowdown missiles(maybe not so much after 200).

Question: when you use AP and lower an enemies armor below 0, is the damage increase exactly the same as the armor damage reduction formula. Meaning at -10 armor, damage reduction is -5% so you receive a 5% damage increase effectively?

If this is true, then using AP on low armor enemies (bosses) will mean you'll be doing even more damage then your are now.

True, but i think negative armor bonus is capped so you would either need to remove less armor or negative bonus was removed and it wouldn't even matter. I cannot remember which.

Negative armor shouldn't be there in the 1st place. Much better if they capped the min armor to 0.

Rammers will benefit most from this...

I think the current formula for missiles is something like this, cant remember exactly about the conditions...
if Gun>0 and Nav>0
Missile Damage [1+(0.005xGun + 0.0025xNav)]

if Nav>0 and Gun=0
Missile Damage [1+(0.004xNav)]

To buff missilers without buffing rammers, we can use make it
Missile Damage [1+(0.005xGun + 0.004xNav)]
