No craftables after 190 =(
I just noticed that there aren't any items to craft once you are past 190. I don't know about u guys but i really enjoyed that dynamic! Its the closest you can get to an RPG! Infact i always thought that there would be more development on that front with the clash of crew event and the subsequent introduction of weapon lockers. There is so much that can be accomplished by that feature alone...with the casino, medal, ember and event items, players can truly form unique inventories and distinguish themselves in the game. Anyways here's hoping that we get some interesting combinations in the future!

My two imploder cannons and moonlight been rotting in hangar after level 210... Would be glad if they can be put to use for future crafting.

Just send in a ticket to tyler asking that they stop doing events every other month and make new weapons from old ones rather then just making each event have better weapons then the previous.

You referring to the crafted crew weapons?

Yes but not just that, i was talking about crafting in general. Initially when chainmail bikini came out, i thought there were going to be more costumes but that never really took off...so when Tyler introduced the Clash of Crew Event, i thought they might work on that front as well. However, i don't just want costumes and crew weapons. I initially highlighted the fact that there were not many crafting options past lvl 190 (assuming you do count assembling as crafting); and its around these levels that your inventory really starts to pile up (with the recent events and redeemable items) but that's not even the main concern here! Crafting adds a dynamic to the game. I mean yes i do enjoy events and secret shop items but i don't want them at the cost of other in game features!
Crafting is a way to keep people involved for the long haul. I have saved every item since the feature was introduced in hopes of utilizing it later on in the game. Plus, its exciting to build new things, especially if collecting the ingredients is a challenge unto itself. Another thing that i would like to point out is that most people who play MMORPGs want distinguishable characters, skills and items. I want to have rare items! I want to enjoy an edge over other players just because i was more tactical in my approach to character development, that i was playing for the long run.
I enjoy crafting, its a fun feature and i would like it to be an active part of the game.

Ok. I'll request for Chainmail Bikini MK2.

Yes, it did but i also highlighted the fact that since the introduction of sios events the crafting dynamic has been ignored to a large extent. What i meant to say was that i expect Tyler to develop the game whilst retaining the original structure that has brought it this much popularity. We cant have new features at the expense of others.
PS: I know Tyler is now focused on developing new projects but i honestly believe that Battlestations is still quite marketable! You guys have managed to keep Battlestations fresh for 7 years and that's quite remarkable given this platform. I know that the next transition comes at a hefty price but i really do believe that this game has what it takes to be successful on tablets and touch screens. In fact i am hoping that this game does get ported to a handheld device so i can play it for 7 more years :)

I think if BS is going to succeed on mobile (including tablets) it has to be a new (simpler) game.
I'm working on a new game/game engine for Gamebatte. I guess that could be reused to create mobile crossplatform BS.
Current BS players can get some kind of bonus for starting in this new BS based on their highest level achieved and VIP level.

I agree! I was actually thinking about the same thing. The new interface design can be similar to CSR Racing (I have actually thought about this). However, accommodating BS to that design will have its challenges. I think a revamped campaign and crew system (styled as an RPG party/crew system) along with a linear gameplay can yield positive results.
The real challenge however will be to incorporate the multiplayer aspects of the game. I know for a fact that the multiplayer elements in Battlestations (PVP, ClanWar, Skirmish, etc) serve as a central spine for the game. BS after all has been largely successful due to the social aspect of the game. Linking mobile apps to social accounts has proven to be quite successful (Candy Crush) and can work to the same effect for BS.
PS: With that said, i would definitely play BS if it were to make that transition :)
PSS: Must not forget about Crafting!!! xD

I think the new BS should allow players to have multiple ships. Could have 5 crew members per ship.

Uh... I think there shouldn't be too many game modes: PvP, CW, Skirmish is too many. Should pick at most 2/3. Maybe Skirmish could be a format for events.

I think that would make the design too tedious but it can work! However what i was suggesting earlier was to have a mix of NPC crewmates and actual friends. You can unlock NPC crewmates as you progress through the game, each bringing you a unique skill set (or skills). The idea is to combine different parts of game together to minimize clutter and complexity.

Oh yeah that works for me as long as there is that MMORPG feel to the game.
PS: This topic is about crafting!!! xD
