Armor Piercing

Hello all,,,

I'm new to Battle Stations,,so can anyone help me to understand about Armor Piercing???

If my Armor Piercing is greater than enemey's armor,,will it goes to negative or it always goes to zero instead???

Please help me....

If you would like to sunk the defender of fort,
it is still useful since fort defenders are given 30 armor bonus
but it will be trade of lower fort damage because of the extreme high armor of fort
