Using Windows 8, I have a problem with the latest build of the simulator.

I have v1.7 of Java installed and encounter this error message which prevents me from using the program (and clicking on Yes does not install any runtime files for v1.5 or link to anything - not that I can see the sense in doing so when I am using a newer version anyway!)

The offline simulator is not my program. I only update its database so the program is the same since its last version in 2010.
But as I know you need this to run the program.

http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Just for test, I uninstalled my java version and I tried to run the program. The same message appear to me. Then I reinstall the java from the above link and the program was ok.

mmmmmfff....I'm not keen on the idea but I will install it. Thanks anyway. I assumed you had taken over the project from the ground up.

And ....it now works.

Windows 8 has special needs you see ( I did not have all the run time files installed which I thought I had )

Cheers.

Yep, I picked up a sweet new laptop whilst in Sydney. Saved a heap of money. Unfortunately it came bundled with Windows 8. I've messed with it as much as possible to make it not feel like Windows 8. Sure, I prefer Window 7 on my other laptop and desktop but 8 does start up and shut down very quickly...which is nice I guess.
